Hamilton, Federalist Paper Number 12 Tax laws have in vain been multiplied...the treasuries of the states have remained empty

Two hundred and thirty years ago, Alexander Hamilton writes:

"Tax laws have in vain been multiplied; new methods to enforce the collection have in vain been tried; the public expectation has been uniformly disappointed, and the treasuries of the states have remained empty."

I'll paraphrase some of the rest:

Where 'popular' systems of administration, driven by 'popular' government has defeated every experiment in the collection of taxes, and has taught the different legislatures the folly of repeating them.

But, apparently our legislatures have not been taught the folly of repeating them, we are repeating them over and over again. I should not say we here, most of the blame is in the people who believe and reelect the statists, which are in the majority, and the notso conservatives who were elected to oppose their agenda, and who failed. Some of the blame also lies on the media who wholeheartedly embrace the statist agenda and who will stop at noting to try and disassemble, at a personal level, anyone who opposes the statist agenda.

One example is the media fiction, oft repeated by Hillary Clinton that Bill Clinton ran a surplus. A complete falsehood. Newt Gingrich and his Contract with America gang helped fight the deficit, but he had to have a government shutdown for weeks with Clinton before Clinton blinked. No media outlet reports that fact. The current Republican congress didn't have the gumption for such showdowns, and doesn't have the backbone for staring down the mainstream media during their shutdown shenanigans, including all the shutdown dirty tricks that Obama enforced, dirty tricks that not even Bill Clinton was willing to do.

It is too late now, no matter who wins the election, for the US to pay back the nineteen trillion in debt, and the two hundred trillion in liabilities currently owed. And no mention of the printing presses in the quantitative easing schemes that will dilute the dollar when the debt wall holding the quantity of fiat currency breaks. And where will the power of the federal government be then? It can't pay its soldiers to defend, its courts to adjudicate, and its tax collectors to collect? We are now seeing in Venezuela a state in its death throws as it confiscates private businesses, and the shelves are empty. Yet thirty percent still support the regime in the failed state. This means, no matter how bad things get, the statists will still hold thirty percent of the population in thrall.

Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers Number 11, and The Rights Of Neutrality

Hamilton writes: "The rights of neutrality will only be respected, when they are defended by an adequate power. A nation, despicable by its weakness, forfeits even the privilege of being neutral."
Hamilton argues, not necessarily for the strongest military, but at least one that can defend itself, and that isn't bullied. As the Obama administration has presided over the decline of our military, and shifted that money over to social justice causes, we have seen the increased hostility and contempt that other nations hold us in. Putin, in Russia. The Chinese snubbing Obama on the tarmac, Duterte in the Phillipines calling him a "Son of a Whore." Can anyone imagine the President of a third world ally of the United States saying something like that to Reagan?

Hamilton goes on:
"It would be in the power of the maritime nations, availing themselves of our universal impotence, to prescribe the conditions of our political existence; and as they have a common interest in being our carriers, and still more in preventing us from becoming theirs, they would, in all probability, combine to embarrass our navigation in such a manner, as would in effect destroy it, and confine us to a PASSIVE COMMERCE. We should thus be compelled to content ourselves with the first price of our commodities, and to see the profits of our trade snatched from us, to enrich our enemies and persecutors."

And now we see China in the East, and the Russians in the West, acting more aggressively by asking to refuel in NATO ports (soon these will be demands), or building artificial islands in the South China Sea to stake claims on previously unoccupied sea lanes. And the Panama Canal is long gone. Even America's control of the internet was ceded to the globalists. The aggressive actions by rivals were not countered by the United States, and will result in a progressive rollback of maritime power that had defined and strengthened our economic interests in the 20th century. The loss of internet control will result in a subsequent loss of cyber economic power in the 21st, thus confining us to a PASSIVE COMMERCE, that is, one where the market is dictated to us.

James Madison, Causes of Faction and Remedies

In Federalist Paper Number 10, Madison writes:

"There are again two methods of removing the causes of faction: The one, by destroying the liberty which is essential to its existence ; the other, by giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests."

The Democrats/Marxists/Statists in the United States have seized on these factions as a method of gaining power at the expense of liberty, and the prescient Madison had indeed foreseen this:

"It could never be more truly said, than of the first remedy, that it is worse than the disease."

And yet we see this liberties vanishing before our eyes. The EPA, going after our businesses, and dictating what we can do on our own land. The IRS, penalizing those on the other side of the political landscape, The FBI in selective justice. These liberties that were paid for in blood, by our brave soldiers and Marines,  are being given up one-by-one, at the behest of those, for the most part, who never served, who kneel at the playing of the National Anthem, who scream "kill all cops."

The democrat-media complex that supports those who are causing this factional divide in the name of political power, who is riddled with corruption and malfeasance represents everything the framers were fighting against.

And then Madison writes this:

"But the most common and durable source of factions, has been the various and unequal distribution of property. Those who hold, and those who are without property, have ever formed distinct interests in society. Those who are creditors, and those who are debtors, fall under a like discrimination."

This is the primary weapon of the Marxist/Statist, declaring that we are not classless, that the rich must pay their "fair share." Their fair share of course being anything but, and if you 'contribute' to their own well being, say along the lines of the Clinton Foundation, then your fair share of taxes will be very small indeed, while your fair share of influence at the State Department, will know no bounds.

The framers wanted to protect us from these factions by confining them to small, local governments.  What they didn't foresee was the modern democratic party unifying all these factions by telling them what they wanted to hear, and usurping the powers reserved for the states via stacking the Supreme Court with ideologues.

"The influence of factious leaders may kindle a flame within their particular states, but will be unable to spread a general conflagration through the other states"

Unfortunately, Madison was wrong about this, we are now dealing with the effects of the Democrats unifying the factions and destroying our liberties and hence our Republic.

Measures too often decided, The Federalist Papers No 10.

James Madison writes:

"...measures are too often decided, not according to the rules of justice, and the rights of the minor party, but by the superior force of an interested and overbearing majority. However anxiously we may wish that these complaints had no foundation, the evidence of known facts will not permit us to deny that they are in some degree true."

Such are the challenges that are brought to bear against us from the modern social justice warrior/ Marxist. A perceived gap in pay, a perceived increase in police-involved racial shootings, or the so-called campus rape culture. All of these arguments have been disproved analytically, yet the perception remains like a bad smell after a Democrat-lead Trump rally ambush . And in that respect, they are in some degree true, police sometimes shoot black criminals, women who get sick more often, are less aggressive in the workplace, and who shy away from the STEM fields are less likely to make as much money as their male counterparts, and women do get raped on campus, albeit in numbers far less than in the general population.

But there are legal remedies to all of these issues, it is illegal for police to shoot anyone who isn't a danger to them. It's illegal for companies to pay women less than men for the same job and amount of work. Rape is illegal. Yet, for the modern social justice warrior, a legal remedy is not enough.

They want the power. Just like rape is about power, the modern causes of the social justice warrior are about power. And in their minds, the power must be taken from the white patriarchy. There is nothing stopping a woman from building her own company, if she feels like she isn't earning her worth. There's nothing stopping a woman from arming herself against rape on campus. I take that back, the other Marxist have made that impossible for a law-abiding citizen to arm themselves on campus. There is an extensive legal system to prevent racially-motivated discrimination and unnecessary violence by police, so extensive it has effectively immobilized law enforcement and we're seeing the results of that as upticks in violent urban crime across America.

No, as Madison foretold in Number 10, these groups will try and restrict our rights (read power) in building our own businesses, letting police do their jobs, and cower men on campuses. And the only way they can do so is by subverting the Constitution. They will increase business regulation via federal mandate, where the federal government has no Constitutional authority. They will force police departments to bend to their will by withholding federal funding and passing unconstitutional laws on local law enforcement, and they will continue to pass laws like Title IX which attempt to circumvent due process on campuses.

Federalist Number 10 and the Mortal Diseases

James Madison writes:

"The instability, injustice, and confusion, introduced into the public councils, have, in truth, been the mortal diseases under which popular governments have every where perished; as they continue to be the favourite and fruitful topics from which the adversaries to liberty derive their most specious declamations."

This is the Democrats calling card, the instability driven by racism, implied or actual, sexism, also implied or actual, environmentalism, poverty, and the other causes that they embrace. Whether they have good intentions or not, they are in fact, the adversaries to liberty. For in each of these causes lie the seeds of our destruction via divisiveness and federal government agencies that will redistribute our wealth, and restrict our abilities to build our wealth, hence destroying our ability to pursue happiness.

Thus the framers put in clauses to restrict the federal government's power, so that these causes should be handled locally. In the sixties, the radical left started pushing for federal control over these issues, and thus ended the free market system and ushered in the era of crony capitalism and soft socialism we now have.

One of the articles that embraced giving the federal government power to fight poverty is "The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty" by Piven and Cloward. The Cloward-Piven strategy argued that local strategies were failures, and that the federal government needed to take control. This totally bypassed and ignored the constitutional limits set on the federal government. Worse yet, the federal government's poverty strategy is a complete failure, and has created an entire class that is entitled and beholden to government handouts.

The Statist/Marxist often argues that the General Welfare clause allows the federal government to conduct such activities. If the activity actually resulted in the general welfare of the Union then they might have a good argument. But we now know, after fifty years, that the taxes levied on half of us, to build a culture of dependency in the other half, has not only resulted in a reduction in liberty for both sides, but also divided us and may become the "mortal diseases under which popular governments have every where perished."

The Advocates of Despotism

From The Federalist Papers Number 9 by Alexander Hamilton:

"From the disorders that disfigure the annals of those republics, the advocates of despotism have drawn arguments, not only against the forms of republican government, but against the very principles of civil liberty. They have decried all free government, as inconsistent with the order of society, and have indulged themselves in malicious exultation over its friends and partisans. Happily for mankind, stupendous fabrics reared on the basis of liberty, which have flourished for ages, have in a few glorious instances refuted their gloomy sophisms. And, I trust, America will be the broad and solid foundation of other edifices not less magnificent, which will be equally permanent monuments of their error."

Some things never change. Today, in the form of advocates of despotism, we have:

1) The main stream media: Salon: American Capitalism has failed us.

Time: American Capitalism's Great Crisis

MSNBC: Is Capitalism good for America?

The verdict is in from the crony-capitalist media corporations: Capitalism is a failure, we should vote for socialism. If they had said crony-capitalism is a failure I agree, my issue with them, is that THEY are the crony capitalists. In bed with the DNC, and the Clinton campaign as a slue of incriminating emails has shown.

Notice the word they use, is capitalism. Not free market. This is done for a reason, if they associate the word freedom with the markets, then they have a problem, because they are advocating for government control of the markets, and they don't want you to associate the word freedom with the markets. You'll realize that you're giving up your freedom. They want a compliant populace to march down to the slaughterhouse.

We already have government control of the markets, and they're doing a terrible job. And the more control they government has, the less freedom we will have, both as business owners and consumers.

This current system, isn't a capitalist free-market society, we haven't had one of those in fifty years. So what are they talking about? The economist Milton Friedman once said over thirty years ago, "Everyone agrees that socialism is a failure. Their answer to our current troubles is more socialism." And that's their answer, we've seen socialist governments failing for over a century now. Yet the music still plays, Don't cry for me Argentina. We shouldn't cry, but we should learn.

Our answer must be to use the internet, and other media outlets to advocate for a free market system, and call it that. And to denounce the current crony capitalist/socialist system. We must make our voices heard in the schools, which are paid for by money generated by the current system, and on the campuses. And where ever the advocates of tyranny reign and try to silence us, we must advocate for the withdrawal of those funds. .

The Federalist Papers Number 9 and Modern America

Alexander Hamilton writes:

"It is impossible to read the history of the petty republics of Greece and Italy, without feeling sensations of horror and disgust at the distractions with which they were continually agitated, and at the rapid succession of revolutions, by which they were kept perpetually vibrating between the extremes of tyranny and anarchy."

Maybe so. But in defense of the Greeks and Romans, they were the pioneers in self-government, the first to throw off the chains of the petty tyrants, the kings, the aristocrats. They had to build completely new systems. Like engineers with no schematics, they started with nothing, and built something completely unheard of in human history. Were they flawed? Of course they were. But they gave us something to adjust fire to. And the framers did adjust, and did so well. I disagree with Hamilton on this, most inventions' first iteration are flawed. But we shouldn't despise the inventor.

Now we have petty tyrants like Obama, and perhaps, Hillary. The large difference between the Greeks and the Romans, and the modern Marxists/Statists like the current Democratic party represent, is that the modern Marxism is a model that is not just slightly flawed, and can be adjusted like the old Democracies and Republics, but one that is fatally flawed, and unworkable by human endeavors. No one has made it work. Its the Edsel of government, that should never be modified, but sent to the junkyard, with a footnote in the history books, "Don't try this again. Please." The Statists ignore the fact that human beings are driven by self-interest and incentives. This ignorance creates a fiction of human interaction. Such is the fiction maintained by the modern Statist. When confronting history, the modern Statist maintains that the previous Marxist systems weren't constructed correctly, and points out a few systems (usually Scandinavian) that Statists have made workable.

Of course, with the modern collapse of the European States, we know that to be a fiction too. And as we watch the collapse of Venezuela in South America, and the disastrous Olympics and impeachment going on in Brazil, Hamilton's words are coming back to haunt us, but not of the Greeks or Romans. No, we are watching, with horror and disgust,  the tyranny and anarchy right in our backyard. And its name is Socialism.

Sanders thinks if he changes the name, he'll make it work. But Sanders was incapable of running a hot dog stand. Hillary thinks that if she doesn't call it Socialism, that she'll make it work. She'll make it work for her, that much is certain.

Most troublesome of all, are the millions of millennials who were schooled via our Marxist teacher's unions that Socialism is the system this country should adopt. None of them have lived under such a system, although we're getting there quickly. Every day the millennials hear that our free market system is a failure, and we need to become a Socialist state. And yet we haven't really had a free market in the United States for fifty years, so how would we know if it didn't work or not?

These arguments are all academic of course. The Republic is already in the beginning stages of our second civil war. Like a chicken with its head cut off, running around, it doesn't know it yet. And it won't be pretty,

A Federalist Papers Checklist: Our disunity will invite other nation's contempt and war

An excerpt from the Federalist Papers:

"But whatever may be our situation, whether firmly united under one national government, or split into a number of confederacies, certain it is, that foreign nations will know and view it exactly as it is, and they will act towards us accordingly. If they see that our national government is efficient and well administered ... our trade prudently regulated... our militia properly organized and disciplined... our resources and finances discreetly managed... our credit re-established ... our people free, contented and united, they will be much more disposed to cultivate our friendship, than to provoke our resentment. If, on the other hand, they find us either destitute of an effectual government, (each state doing right or wrong as to its rulers may seem convenient) or split into three or four independent and probably discordant republics or confederacies, one inclining to Britain, another to France, and a third to Spain, and perhaps played off against each other by the three, what a poor pitiful figure will America make in their eyes! How liable would she become not only to their contempt, but to their outrage; and how soon would dear bought experience proclaim, that when a people or family so divide, it never fails to be against themselves."

Let's go over it:

Is our national government efficient? No

Is our trade prudently regulated? No

Is our militia (military) properly organized and disciplined? This is open to debate, but the Obama administration's social engineering damage has made our military weaker.

Our resources and finances discretely managed: Nineteen trillion in the hole, which will never be paid back. No.

Verdict: "...what a poor pitiful figure will America make in their eyes"

We are already seeing the effects of that.
