Well education is in the news again, but over the last year its been in the news constantly. The latest is that the teachers union or some other fools wants Biden to investigate parents that disrupt board meetings for anything they can find or some such nonsense.
Is there any other example besides the last year-and-a-half that has proven that modern public education is as vital to a person’s knowledge as reddit is to a person’s inner calm?
I did exceptionally poorly in the public education system. There’s this internet dude named Rossman who does electronic repair videos, the kid is exceptionally smart. But he bombed out of the public education system. Rossman kind of did the journeyman method. You know, the old days, some blacksmith would adopt you, you’d be basically his slave/student for the next decade or so. Then you would become a blacksmith.
Really the only professions that still do that are some of the trades, and physicians as residents. There are some mickey mouse intern programs that I’ve seen, but most of them are kind of a joke. Nobody knows what to do with them. So no we’re stuck with elementary and high school that teach you things like ‘salesmen are bad’ by depicting them that way in every piece of literature you read. They you find out that you have to sell yourself your whole life, and how well you do that will determine a lot of important things. Like the level job you have, the type of woman you end up with… Yet my teachers in public schools scoffed at them.
Yet we get these guys like Rossman, and some other dudes that I know who do terribly in public school, maybe even fairly badly in college. Then kick ass when they get out to the business world, teaching themselves, using the information that’s out there. Aren’t the teachers asking themselves, why does this group that obviously have something going on when they were lame here? And why is the system getting worse and worse, when the collective amount of free or easily acquired information has exploded over the last twenty years? Shouldn’t the teachers be asking themselves: Are we in danger of losing our relevance?
No. No they’re not asking themselves about their relevance. They’re going after parents. Just a suggestion guys. When people are already asking why you’re still around, I wouldn’t leave piles of dog shit everywhere.
