Nobody but history can punish a man without honor.

Just listened to a heated debate about this man between Victor Davis Hanson and H.R. McMaster. Amazingly, McMaster defended Trump on some issues, even know Trump famously fired the man.
I’m buzzed. Tuesday has become scotch day as I’ve cut down my drinking to one day a week, mostly because the whiskey is burning a hole in my stomach or something. Not sure, but a little tums puts out that fire. Is there anything better than listening to H.R. McMaster and VDH talking about the current Vietnam-style American military meltdown. As bad as that is, listening to these two is always a pleasure.

In the last twenty-four hours I’ve seen a hoverboard gliding over the ocean, ditched a massive call center simulation in favor of writing one myself, fixed an aberrant web site ,and reorganized a variety of cables and antennas. What a weird and wonderful place the twenty-first century has become. If only this isolation crap from Covid would go away.
Speaking of the Covid, even weirder news from that front. Almost all the comorbidity metrics from hospitalized Americans involve some type of obese, hypertension, or high cholesterol type problems. But another strange one is fear or anxiety related maladies. These people also are in the top ten of Covid comorbidity metrics.
Results
Among 4,899,447 hospitalized adults in PHD-SR, 540,667 (11.0%) were patients with COVID-19, of whom 94.9% had at least 1 underlying medical condition. Essential hypertension (50.4%), disorders of lipid metabolism (49.4%), and obesity (33.0%) were the most common. The strongest risk factors for death were obesity (adjusted risk ratio [aRR] = 1.30; 95% CI, 1.27–1.33), anxiety and fear-related disorders (aRR = 1.28; 95% CI, 1.25–1.31), and diabetes with complication (aRR = 1.26; 95% CI, 1.24–1.28), as well as the total number of conditions, with aRRs of death ranging from 1.53 (95% CI, 1.41–1.67) for patients with 1 condition to 3.82 (95% CI, 3.45–4.23) for patients with more than 10 conditions (compared with patients with no conditions).

And on the lighter side, one of the best jokes ever imbedded in code comments:
/**
* For the brave souls who get this far: You are the chosen ones,
* the valiant knights of programming who toil away, without rest,
* fixing our most awful code. To you, true saviors, kings of men,
* I say this: never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down,
* never gonna run around and desert you. Never gonna make you cry,
* never gonna say goodbye. Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you.
