Ahh...federal government civilians. How I miss these people. Everywhere you would go on a military base, there they were. Running the wood shop, over at disbursing making sure our pay was jacked up, and generally doing nothing but converting oxygen into carbon dioxide.
At the wood shop, I got kicked out for trying to bring in the wrong wood. And the civilian that told me about it was such a, just a dick. They just didn’t care. Eventually that place got shut down, which is a damn shame for the Marines that used it.
At the pool, the nasty woman that ran the place jacked me up for staging some gear 5 minutes ahead of a training operation there. When I didn’t act too concerned she found a captain to do it for her. Again, she was just so nasty about the whole thing. Well, I guess you can look on the bright side. She was the pool bitch when I got to Yuma, and years later, she was still the pool bitch at Yuma.
At the range, I had an entire company of Marines waiting for this clown for 45 minutes to unlock the place. He immediately started in on me, instead of apologizing for being late, started in on me about how I better take care of his range. At this point I was a captain however, and made sure that base operations got an earful about this clown.
At the exchange, two of my friends wanted the latest x-box for their kids. The things were rationed so the base exchange notified them that they would only get two in stock for Christmas, and they would be given out on a first-come basis. They waited all night only to find out that the base exchange employees had grabbed them both and nobody would say what happened to them.
The amount of crap the active duty soldiers and Marines have to take from these people is unbelievable. You want to take care of your military? Light a fire under these asses.
