Milton Friedmen kicks Donahue's Ass

It never gets old. But they never learn. They are going to have to learn the hard way.

Scientific American Editors go shopping for tinfoil hats

I'm not kidding. They are now claiming that the CIA is covering up Global Warming. They need to change that magazine's name to American Conspiracy...

Why Is the CIA Keeping Climate Change Secret?

And here is your hat, SciAm:

The Government tries to use Sharepoint, and fails miserably

The other day I was told I had to use a government SharePoint site for my job known as MCEITS. The Marine Corps something IT something site. Immediately, my heart froze at the prospect of having to use another crappy DoD content management system. I approached the System Access Request with extreme caution. One mistake and I would face hours of frustration. Little was I to know, even though I filled out the extensive error prone online disaster of forms without a mistake...the admins would still sit on it until I emailed them and asked them WTF? Then they got off their ponderous fat asses and approved the request, a task that took them at least 10 seconds.

Then things got bad. I found out that you had to use your CAC card to access the site. This is almost the equivalent of a death sentence to a DoD web site. There are so many problems with accessing CAC sites that the people who thought of making the CAC site a DoD requirement need to be lined up against a wall and shot as traitors.

True to form, as soon as I got access to the site, the CAC security stuff slowed everything to a snail like crawl when it worked at all. Which was rare.

So if you are reading this, and you are one of those who jumped on the CAC enabled web site bandwagon please do the United States defense team a favor, and shoot yourself in the head. You have made this country weaker and more painful to live in. With a single blow of your bureaucratic bullshit horn. But, you are probably not reading this. Because your computer doesn't work.

One Term Failure...the Obama Presidency

Good piece in the Washington Times about Obama's one term presidency. The MSM is still schilling for him and defecating on the Republican candidates daily though.

Obama’s stumbling, bumbling 1-term presidency

And now, a word on our Wall Street Protesters

Liberalism’s unwashed last stand

What do they really want? The Onion knows:

The Homeless Want a Handout

But, even with Obama and the liberals gone it is probably too late as Mark Steyn points out in his book After America. The money is gone too. And it isn't coming back soon.

If this woman had been my public schoolteacher I would have a PHd in Astrophysics by now:

Apple Business Developer Account

So my boss wants us to make iPad apps. OK, no huge deal. Since WE are doing it, we need a business account, which is different from the personal developer account. No big deal, right?

WRONG!

Already establishing a crappy name for itself among developers for its restrictive bullshit process for the requirements on a personal developer account, Apple takes the sphincter police act one step further on its business account requirements. Described by one developer as "...the biggest irrelevant computer company..." Apple is killing the golden goose by doing everything they can to piss off every developer on the planet. Not only do they require you to FAX (seriously, FAX? WTF???) your right to exist as a company, but also you have to submit docs showing your right to speak for the company, exist as a human being, and consume oxygen. After which, your application will be "further reviewed."

After that, I went down to the Sprint store, and got myself an Android for 1/2 the billing costs of an AT&T iPhone. Bye AT&T. Bye Apple.

The Wall Street Journal reported today that the IT community responded to the release of the iPhone 4s with a tremendous yawn and drop in stock value. I'll follow that yawn with a "right back atcha Apple" while downloading the Eclipse plugin to make Android Apps. And you write them in Java. Know what that is Apple? It's a programming language that was made after Star Wars Episode IV. Unlike Objective C, the language Apple makes you code in for iOS. Which by all appearances was created by Ada Lovelace.

I predict Apple will fade into irrelevance again within five years. Short that Apple stock boys and girls. Now, that's an opportunity!

Kenmore Ultrawash Quietguard 4...can America be great again when we make crap like this?

I had an unfortunate experience of buying a Kenmore Ultrawash Quietguard 4 dishwasher and it stopped working after 3 years, when the dishes started coming out dirty. This piece of garbage had plenty of people complaining about it and I am pretty unhappy with it also. No more Kenmore anything for us. The Maytag refrigerator that I bought four years ago is also a piece of crap. The water tastes horrible out of the dispenser, even with a new filter and the temp control is horrible. When did we start turning out so much crap? Maytag, you are history too. And when you call the idiots, its always the same old song. "We have a new model that will fit your needs." Rigghttt!
